Quick Overview

The music book for the album of the same name with all 11 titles

: Piano

Martin Herzberg makes moving piano music to get lost in your dreams, to meditate and to let yourself go. His work has been influenced by composers as Ludovico Einaudi or Yann Tiersen, who have been able to arouse enthusiasm for this particular kind of piano music amongst a wide audience through their soundtracks for the movies “The Intouchables” and “The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain”.
Martin creates his very own touch by fusing moving piano New Classic with catchy emotional motifs. German vocals with self-written lyrics expand his piano repertoire. Herzberg's music does not need a film to be touching. It sounds like the soundtrack to one's own life.

Authors portrait

The piano player and composer Martin Herzberg was born in 1981 in Berlin, where he grew up. At the age of eight he took the violin of his grandfather from the attic and began to take lessons. As soon as his finances grew, he exchanged his violin for a piano. Eventually, at the age of eighteen, he found his “soul-and-body instrument”; one might say, it was love at first sound. Just four years after his first album had been published, he founded his label “Cloudbreak Records” and, at the same time, he continued to be active in his musical production. Although he felt that his studies in Musicology were for him like a burden, that kept him far from the making of music, he decided to continue and in 2012 he ended his academic career with a PhD.
In the meanwhile, Martin has recorded and published four albums as self-production and his solo piano tracks have been particularly appreciated. Singers like Mads Langer and Ed Sheeran have inspired Martin to express himself also in singing. For this reason, the current album “Liebe und Tasten” (2017) is a double album that includes both a CD with exclusively instrumental music and some songs in addition in the second one. Again and again, his fans turned out to be enthusiastic about his melodic and soft voice. Martin is an independent and works exclusively with his friends and family, who regularly accompany him on the stage and whose guitars and strings enhance the Herzberg-music. In every concert, the audience can perceive this domestic atmosphere. Martin goes on tour in the German-speaking area several times in the year, where he is able, again and again, to fill up those rooms in exceptional locations like the Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra, the Leiszhalle in Hamburg or the Liederhalle in Stuttgart.
